The People's Congress Hall flanks the western side of Tian'anmen Square in Beijing. Constructed in 1959, it's over 40 metres high, which a floor space of 171800 square metres, when it is in session. It is the place for the National People's Congress, or political and diplomatic activities.

The main entrance is facing the Square, with the National Emblem on its top, supported by 12 25-metre high marble pillar. The grest hall has numerous conference rooms, banquet halls, and reception areas, many of vast size: the major confernce hall accommodates 10000 people and the huge banquet hall can seat 5000. There are also many rooms named after provinces, municipal cities, autonomous regions, special administrative regions, and are decorated with their region's characteristics.
